Text: Acts 8: 4-8

Memory Verse: “Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word” (Acts 4:4).

Philip had been prayerfully chosen by the brethren to help serve tables. He had been found to be qualified to serve because he had a good reputation, was full of the Holy Spirit, and had wisdom (Acts 6:2-7). Hardly had they settled in to do the work when trouble and persecution started, and they had to run for their lives. The need to move or relocate from one place to the other has always existed for different reasons. For some, like Abraham, it is because of a special call by God.

Lot moved in search of greener pastures. For Joseph it was persecution by his brothers, while for others like Isaac, Jacob and their families, it was famine (Genesis 12:1-3; 46:1-6). Whatever the reason, each person went with all that
he had been blessed, making a difference as they went. Philip went with the fullness of the Holy Spirit and preached Christ in Samaria. Have you changed jobs or church, moved house or migrated to a new country?

Do you see yourself as an ambassador for Christ there? Are you making a difference? Even in the most unfavourable circumstances, like Joseph, you can impact lives by standing up to your faith in Christ. Wherever you go, be certain that the Holy Spirit will back you up with signs and wonders, if you stand up for God. So, like Philip, please spread the joy of the Lord everywhere you go.

Prayer Points:
1. Help me to stand out for You everywhere I go, O Lord.
2. I receive the boldness to preach Christ everywhere I go.
