Text: 1 Samuel 30:1-8, 17-19
Memory Verse:“So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away,
and David rescued his two wives” (1 Samuel 30:18).
All that David had at the time he and his men returned to Ziklag were all burned with fire. Their women, wives, sons, and daughters were all taken captive and their possessions were burnt.
But David encouraged himself in the Lord and enquired of the Lord on what to do. It was a time that David would have engaged in a pity party, weeping, and wailing, but instead, he took up courage in the Lord and enquired of God what he should do. God told him to go and pursue, overtake and recover. The Lord assured him that he would recover all that had been taken away from them. Hedid as the Lord commanded and he recovered all.
If you examine your life, certain deposits of grace may have been lost to the enemy of your soul. Do not hesitate to confess that loss to the Lord; pursue with focus, and reject the enemy’s strategy to steal from you. Learn to retreat and seek the face of the Lord whenever you do not know what
to do. He is a present help in time of need. (Psalm 46:1). Like David, you too can recover all. Your obedience to whatever instructions you receive from the Lord God in the place of prayer will bring your victory and total recovery. Whatever you are passing through, take out time to seek the face of God, receive instruction from Him and act upon such instructions.
Prayer Points:
1. Holy Spirit, open my ears to the instructions that will birth my total recovery this season/year.
2. Father, release the needed help for total recovery to me.
