Text: Psalm 42:1-5

Memory Verse: “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:2).

When Jesus was accused of eating with sinners because He dined with the Publicans, He said emphatically that only one who is sick needs a physician. Matthew 7:7 says we need to ask to receive, seek to find and knock before the door can be opened. If we must receive anything from the Father, we must sincerely thirst for it; we must pant after it like the deer pants after the water brook. It is not enough to wish and dream; our thirst can only show in our ceaseless prayer, undyingBconfession and constant meditation.
Trust our ever faithful and sure Father to do according to His promise of pouring water on the thirsty, floods upon dry ground, His Spirit upon our seed and blessings upon our offspring (Isaiah 44:3). Let no man with a double mind
think he will receive anything from God. You must stay focused on Him and long for His touch. He is ready to quench your thirst by putting a fountain right inside you. Jesus said, “He who believes in Me… out of his heart will flow
rivers of living water” (John 7:38).

Note that God is more willing to give you than you are willing to ask, but God is not wasteful; He wants results from the power He will give you. His delay is a strategy to prepare you for the thing you are asking for. So, instead of
complaining about unanswered prayers, start preparing by faith for what you asked for.

Prayer Points:
1. Father, create in me an undying passion for You.
2. Father, water every dryness in my life and cause me to flourish.
