Proverbs 23:1-8
Memory Verse:
“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).
The reality of people on this side of eternity is directly proportional to the quality of the thoughts in their hearts. This is a mystery the scripture has emphasised, defining the quality of the life of men unconsciously and then birthing their experiences. Our mind is the linking vessel between our
prophecies and our realities. A man’s life responds to and follows the thoughts in his heart. Invariably, our thoughts are the spiritual seeds that birth the fruits of our realities. No one can be greater than the pattern and expressions of his thought life. It was not a mistake when the scripture noted in Proverbs 4:23 that we have an assignment to guard our heart, for out of it flows the issues of life. Everything we will be in life, will first be in our mind through our thoughts.
Jesus also mentioned that the confessions of the mouth are related to the abundance of the thoughts in the mind. If you want to know the heart of a man, listen to his words. Everything in the visible realm is created twice, first in the heart or mind and then in the physical, before our eyes.
Are your thoughts healthy? What kind of thoughts dominate your heart? James 3:11 explains that the same fountain cannot birth two different experiences or tastes (fresh and bitter). If you want a good experience, then think of a good experience. If your mind is right and healthy, then your life will be right and healthy. Remember, anything that gets your mind gets your life!
Prayer Points:
1. Lord, help my heart to be spiritually healthy.
2. Lord, help me to think right; the thinking that agrees with the scriptures.
