Luke 8:40-42, 49-56
Memory Verse:
“But He put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, ‘Little girl, arise'” (Luke 8:54).
We often do not receive from God because we listen too much to the crowd. The crowd had already made assumptions based on their past experiences. The crowd judges things based on how it looks
on the outside, but men of faith push further because there is more to life than what the eyes can see. The crowd likes noise making based on supposed facts and not on the truth as written in the scriptures. Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue came to Jesus and begged Him to come to his house and heal his only daughter who was dying. When Jesus got to his house, He met the crowd weeping and mourning because the girl had died. Despite Jesus’ words of assurance that the girl was not dead, the crowd, acting by sight and not by faith, ridiculed Him. He asked that the crowd be put out, went in and ministered to the girl and she came back to life (Luke 8:54).
For the miracle of resurrection at the house of Jairus to take place, the crowd had to be set aside. What are those things crowding your mind and preventing your absolute confidence in God’s ability to help you in times of crisis? You have to get rid of them for they act against your faith.
Whatever belief system that is contrary to faith in God’s ability to do the impossible could be classified as a crowd. Get rid of such and you are set for the miraculous!
Prayer Points:
1. Father, rid me of every crowd preventing the miracles in my life.
2. Father, uproot all forms of faithlessness in me
