The Impact Of Holy Spirit

Text:
Romans 8:1-11

Memory Verse:
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:1).

The true story is told of George Wilson, a robber and murderer in the United States who was sentenced to death by the court. Surprisingly however, he rejected a pardon he was offered by President Andrew Jackson! In deciding on what to do, the Supreme Court reviewed the case and
ruled in summary that a pardon is not a pardon unless it is accepted. George Wilson was therefore hanged.
God graciously made a provision of His begotten Son, Jesus, to die for the sins of mankind and, thereby, purchase their pardon. By the acceptance of this pardon, the beneficiary is no longer condemned, but through the impartation of the Holy Spirit receives:
1. Freedom from sin.
2. Hope of a future, eternal life after this life (Romans 8:10&11). This is because when the Holy Spirit comes to live within you, He comes in to teach, renovate your life, empower you to live right for God and resurrect your body when you die.
3. A family, having been adopted into the family of Christ(Romans 8:15). You get God as your father, and brothers and sisters all over the world. God has positioned you as His child to be different.
4. A fortune as co-heirs with Christ. Nothing can be compared to this inheritance that can never perish or fail (1 Peter 1:4). Have you accepted the pardon given freely by God or are you, like George
Wilson, rejecting His offer? Have you accepted that Jesus died to pay for your pardon? Have you experienced the impact of the Holy Spirit?

Prayer Points:
1. Holy Spirit, please take Your rightful place in my life.
2. May my life reflect Your power and blessings, Lord.
