Text:
Acts 9:10-19

Memory Verse:
“Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, ‘Ananias.’ And he said, ‘Here I am, Lord.'” (Acts 9:10).

The Bible is full of stories about very prominent men and women who did exploits for God. Names like Abraham, Joseph, David, Elisha, Deborah, Samuel, Paul, Timothy etc. readily come to mind and, often, when we teach children and adults alike, we encourage them to be like such
remarkable people. Ananias is described as a disciple in Damascus who heard the Lord speak to him in a vision, calling him by name. He, in turn, responded with, “Here I am Lord”, a sign of readiness to obey and serve. His name had never been mentioned before in scripture and was probably never mentioned again. This one mention, however, speaks volumes. He was a disciple known by andreadily available to God for His use. He was active enough in the ‘church’ to have known about Saul’s threat to believers and his mission to Damascus. He was obedient to God’s instructions and believed in the Holy Spirit.
Ananias was as important to God as Paul was and so are you! God has a unique position and use for every believer who makes himself available to Him. His needs are varied and diverse. Just as he needed Ananias to minister to Paul, He needed Andrew to bring his brother Simon, who was to head the church, to the Messiah (John 1:40-42); and Barnabas to introduce the, hitherto, notorious
Saul to the brethren in Jerusalem (Acts 9:26-28).
Are you a believer known by God? Are you available and willing to obey His instructions? Then you are very important to Him. He needs you.

Prayer Points:
1. Here I am, Lord use me.
2. May I remain relevant in Your sight, O Lord.
