James 1:1-4
Memory Verse:
“knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” (James 1:3).
As humans, we go through several tests – academic, spiritual, marital, financial etc. in life. These tests vary in intensity, but know that you are able to pass any test by God’s grace (1 Corinthians 10:13). Your faith, integrity, belief, health and patience would be tested, but it is assuring
that God will see you through. The time of test is a period of test aimed at strengthening your faith. In Matthew 4:3-11, Jesus went through a time of test after fasting for forty days.
You may have been going through a time of testing for some time. It may be that God wants to know what is really in your heart. The question then is, do you trust Him even at such a time?
The test of time is a situation happening in your life, which could be a process through which you have to pass in order for you to become better. A good example of this is the kind forgiving father and the prodigal son who, after some time, came back to his senses. There are things that happen to us that only time can solve and as we grow older, we see the solutions.
Time is a weapon to train us. Both the test of time and the time of test help you to grow in faith, patience and endurance. Abraham and Sarah’s successful 25 years journey to the eventual birth of Isaac constituted both a test of time and a time of test. You too can succeed in your tests.
Prayer Points:
1. Examine your life, know the test you are passing through and thank God for it.
2. Father, I receive grace to wait on You through my test of time and time of test.
